The generator trailer 2700kg is a braked double-axle chassis on a 2.5 m by 1.5 m frame, plated at 2 700 kg gross and built to carry a larger genset. The second axle and higher plating over the 1 500 kg single-axle unit let it take a heavier three-phase set for construction or standby duty, mounted so it tows as one and runs where it stands.
What the generator trailer 2700kg carries
At 2 700 kg GVM on two axles, this trailer handles a substantial mobile genset, the kind that powers a construction site, an event or a farm running as standby. Two axles spread the weight and keep a heavy set stable on the road and steady when it works, and the braked running gear keeps the load under control behind the tow vehicle. The same base chassis is sold bare in our chassis-trailer range for buyers fitting their own equipment.
Build and mounting
The chassis and A-frame are steel open channel in a ladder-frame layout, on braked twin axles, finished in painted 2K Duco. The generator is mounted to suit the set, and fuel, earthing and weatherproofing are specified against how and where you run it. Tell us the generator make, model and weight and we match it to the chassis.

Payload, GVM and licensing
Plated at 2 700 kg gross and braked, this trailer needs a tow vehicle with real braked towing capacity and, for most drivers, an EB licence code. The generator sets the real weight, so we confirm the payload against the trailer tare in writing before you order. The licence and combination rules are in the National Road Traffic Act, and we will check the tow requirements with you.
Where it sits in the range
This is the mid generator trailer. The 1 500 kg single-axle suits smaller sets, and the 3 500 kg unit carries the largest. For a bare deck, see the matching chassis trailers. Compare the range under generator trailers.
