Sizing it right
Generators are rated in kVA; your appliances are rated in watts. At the usual 0.8 power factor, 14 kVA gives you roughly 11.2 kW of running load. Leave headroom for motors: pumps, compressors and aircons draw several times their running current for a moment when they start. If your distribution board has three live phases, look at our three-phase generators instead.
